Lead design for new personal loan products. Partner with product team, risk, engineering, legal, marketing, and operations to define and implement business and tech requirements. Advocate for the customer's experience. Facilitate design sprints, conduct customer and data research, design and test digital prototypes, QA and release on a bi-weekly SCRUM cycle.
Academy of Art University, Department of Online Education, 2015 – 2016
Worked with a large team of editors, video producers, and designers to launch multiple new online art classes every semester. Analyzed the learning needs and goals for the class, planned and creating multi-media assets to support the course content, built the course within a complex CMS system, ensuring that the content met educational standards for quality, and managed the process throughout so that it was delivered on time for the first day of school.
Mindjet (formerly Spigit), 2009 – 2014
Joined a startup team of 20+ and grew with them to a global staff of over 200. Projects included: creating on-brand web design to support innovation programs at Fortune 500 companies like Coca-Cola, Nike, USBank, and Citi; pixel-perfect responsive UX/UI design and front-end development with CSS/HTML/JS/SVN; partnering with stakeholders, product managers, designers, and engineers to develop & document new functionality and interfaces for the flagship software; improving speed and quality of design services by building a theme editor for custom software branding; training program administrators, writing documentation, creating a web site library of reusable design and code assets to expedite design projects; and creative portraits of employees for the internal innovation campaign.

Some notable projects have been: site design and photography for Fluid Yoga; designing the interface for Questr, a mobile app for audio tours; a custom Wordpress theme for the non-profit Peace X Peace, as well as identity collateral, the annual report, and monthly publications; creating a short, informative fund-raising video for Equality Virginia, a outreach and advocacy organization; and designing a large wetlands educational manual for the Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay.

M Realty is a tech-savvy real estate company that diversified into apps and custom websites for realtors. I worked with the team to design interface elements and themes for an app that combined social networks, blogging, and map-based content. In addition, I worked directly with clients to design and integrate their sites with the app.
Techead, January – May, 2007
Techead, a creative staffing company, hired me to be both their internal designer and a member of a their web services team. I developed and took photographs for internal marketing material, designed client websites, and often filled in as an on-site contractor for Techead's staffing clients.
Hunton & Williams LLP, 2003 – 2006
Hunton & Williams is a corporate law firm with over 800 attorneys in 19 offices around the world. When I joined in 2003, the law firm had just begun ramping up its email marketing. I supported the marketing of over 50 law practices with several hundred HTML emails, print and digital advertising, newsletters, identity, signage, and a video for the diversity hiring campaign.
Lifetouch, 2002 – 2003
On-location portrait photography for all ages. Demonstrated a positive and professional image with excellent customer service skills while working with diverse communities. Transported and set up studio strobes, power supply, backgrounds, and camera. Organized and managed flow of several hundred subjects per shoot.
Aspen Photography, 2000 – 2001
Wedding & event photography. Worked as second and lead photographer, as well as office assistant. Managed clients, ran orders, and created albums. Hired and managed a second event photographer.
Copy Wrights Graphics & Printing, 1996 – 2003
Copy Wrights is a small, full-service printing company, and I worked there in a spectrum of client services: answering calls; greeting walk-ins; running & closing the register; designing a wide variety of print projects; prepping files for the press; making orders; printing, cutting, trimming, folding, stamping, binding, packaging, and shipping final projects of all sizes.

Hollins is a small liberal arts university known for its writing programs. My education included production of an award-winning short film called “Solid Ether"; hours in the darkroom, as well as on AVID and Final Cut Pro; running the film club in ‘01-’02, and study abroad in Spain. I was a scholarship recipient and Batten Leadership finalist.
